Bryle Admire, now a Glenpool High School senior, has been cheering since the first grade.
“My mom made me pick between softball and cheer, and I chose cheer and have been doing it ever since,” Admire said.
Admire started cheer in Broken Arrow, where she participated until fifth grade. Admire has conquered, time and again, circumstances that would have turned most away.
“I have been on the varsity squad at Glenpool since my freshman year,” Admire said. “I have faced many setbacks both mentally and physically. I broke my left elbow in 2015 and then again in 2016. Then, in November 2018, I broke my left wrist. I had my first wrist surgery in May of 2020 and my second wrist surgery in 2022, all cheer-related injuries. Each injury came with rehab that was harder and harder to get back to where I was, and some caused mental blocks to overcome.”
Her dedication has paid off many times.
“One of my proudest accomplishments is during my first year at SoCo Intensity, we received SoCo’s first ever paid summit bid, but unfortunately were unable to attend due to COVID-19, but in 2023, we went and placed top four.”
Admire also participates in student council, National Honor Society, National Technical Honors Society, Business Professionals of America and HOSA. In her free time, she enjoys reading.
“One my biggest goals is to get a ring and jacket from NCA and Summit,” Admire said.
One of her greatest motivators is a coach from SoCo, Justen Matsuo.
“He has always been there for me and pushes me to do my best,” Admire said. “He always sees the potential in me, even when I don’t see it in myself.”
After high school, Admire plans to cheer in college and become a physical therapist.
